Clements Meadow

Project Type

Heritage Property

Date

May 2017

Clements Meadow is a Grade II listed property originally built in 1901 for Marlborough College. This significant heritage project required a careful balance of traditional methods and sympathetic modern upgrades.

The entire roof was stripped and re-covered using Delabole Cornish slate, laid in diminishing courses, maintaining the building’s historic character and ensuring long-term durability.

A new extension was constructed using reclaimed bricks and traditional lime mortar, seamlessly blending old with new. Internally, the kitchen-dining area was fully renovated, incorporating underfloor heating beneath limestone flag flooring to provide modern comfort while respecting the property’s period features.

Extensive lime plastering works were also carried out as part of the internal redecoration, alongside the installation of a new WC. Every element of the project was delivered with the care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that defines JG Restorations’ approach to listed and heritage buildings.
